Armorsmith πŸ›‘οΈ

A page detailing the Armorsmith role within Medieval Discord and their forge command.

Description:

An Armorsmith is a skilled artisan who specializes in creating armor for knights and soldiers. The armorsmith's workshop, known as an "armor", is equipped with specialized tools such as hammers, anvils, and shaping stakes. To create armor, the armorsmith uses various techniques such as forging, hammering, and riveting, to shape pieces of metal into armor components, such as helmets, breastplates, and gauntlets. The armorsmith then assembles the components into a full suit of armor, which is tailored to the individual wearer. Armorsmiths are highly valued members of society, as they play a critical role in protecting knights and soldiers on the battlefield. Armorsmiths are generally very prestigious within Rosewood. Their craft also includes the forging of shields and other protective gear.

Just like every other smith, the Armorsmith uses the forge command in order to turn simple materials into complex products which can then be used in trading or selling in the Market. Using this command will open up a dropdown menu wherein you can choose what you want to make. All smiths can use their personal storage in addition to their inventories when using the forge command!

Relationship with the Market and other Users:

For the majority of their forgables, armorsmiths will need refined material components such as iron and steel bars. These cannot be obtained from Miners, but armorsmiths can get them from Blacksmiths. Doing so will make sure that you get them at a lower price while allowing the other person to make a larger profit. Alternatively, you can get all you need from the market at the standard price. Don't forget that you can always trade with Tree Fellers for wood if you want to save a couple of buckles!

Generally, the product armorsmiths make is specific to people who engage in combat or generally expect trouble coming their way. Most people won't have a need for armor. This means that armorsmiths will probably mostly deal with members of the Watch, nobility, and very wealthy members of society. Whether they have PC customers or not doesn't stop them from earning money by selling their wares directly to the market.
