Achievements
Achievements are account-level rewards earned by playing Medieval Discord. They record the things you have done across every character you have ever made, from your first steps in the city to its most absurd feats.
All achievements are cross-character and permanent, meaning they stay with you when you change characters and keep building as you create, roleplay, lose, and remake characters.
Every achievement has a rarity, a piece of lore, and a requirement. Some are secret, so you only learn what they are once you earn them.
Rarityβ
Achievements come in three rarity levels:
- Uncommon (roughly half of MD users could earn one; not easy, but far from impossible)
- Rare (roughly 1% to 5% of MD users; these take time, skill, commitment, or a very deliberate and questionable plan)
- Fabled (only a handful of users will ever hold one; rare, limited, and often cryptic, ridiculous, or absurd)
Each rarity is worth a set number of achievement points:
| Rarity | Points |
|---|---|
| Uncommon | 10 |
| Rare | 50 |
| Fabled | 100 |
Rankβ
Your total achievement points also determine your rank, shown at the top of the catalogue. Each rank is reached at a points threshold:
| Rank | Points |
|---|---|
| Unproven | 0 |
| Aspirant | 100 |
| Renowned | 350 |
| Illustrious | 800 |
| Fabled | 2000 |
Viewing your achievementsβ
r!achievements
Shows your rank, your points, how many achievements you have earned, and the full achievement catalogue β earned, in progress, and locked secrets. Newly earned achievements are marked as (new) until you view them.
Aliases: achievement, ach. Staff can view another user's achievements by adding a mention or Discord id.
The catalogue is interactive:
- Use the category dropdown to filter the list.
- Use the Begin, Back, Forward, and End buttons to page through it.
- Use the Leaderboard button (π) to see the server ranking.
- Use the View an achievement dropdown to open a specific achievement.
Progress is shown in two ways: achievements that build up over time display a progress bar (e.g. ββββββββββ 60/100), while achievements that require a single feat display your personal best (e.g. Personal best: 60/100).
Achievement infoβ
r!achievements
Select an achievement from the View an achievement dropdown to open its detail card. The card shows the achievement's icon, its lore, how to earn it, its rarity, category, and point value, along with whether you have already earned it or how far along you are.
Secret achievements stay hidden until you earn them, so they never appear in the View an achievement dropdown.
Leaderboardβ
Click the Leaderboard button (π) in the achievements message to see the ten users with the most achievement points.
Earning achievementsβ
Achievements are earned automatically as you play. When you earn one, the bot sends you a DM with the achievement, and a small number are also announced publicly in the general chat.
Because achievements are tied to your account and not your character, dying or switching characters never takes them away.
